Welcome, All-Stars!

The Violet community facilitates academic, social and emotional development through collaboration. This strengthens positive behavior, student responsibility and academic success. We strive for the development of productive, contributing members of a changing world who value learning as a life long process.

Together we reach for the stars to make a difference.

2018 Kindergarten Registration

Over 100 Class of 2031 students attended Kindergarten Roundup in March.

During this time, visitors had the opportunity to find out about their neighborhood school, enroll their child for the 2018-19 school year, met Kindergarten teachers, received Kindergarten readiness activities and supplemental summer work, had a Class of 2031 photo opportunity, and asked questions.

For more information, please visit our Kindergarten Registration webpage.

PAWS Visits Violet Elementary

PAWS, the Detroit Tigers official mascot, acted out a reading of “Casey at the Bat” at Violet Elementary today, a complete surprise to everyone. In fact, their only hint was voluntarily wearing spirit day Tigers gear. Student volunteers were gifted Tigers prizes if they correctly answered questions related to the story. Everyone was given the opportunity to high five PAWS! Opening Day on March 29th is almost here.

Once again, our PTO has gone above and beyond to organize and sponsor this event.

Generosity at Jump Rope for Heart Event

Students raised $22,051.39 during our Jump Rope for Heart event. We accomplished our goals by getting kids active, educating them about heart-healthy habits, raising money for cardiovascular research, and teaching them the value of community service.

Globetrotter Shares Anti-Bullying Message

Harlem Globetrotter Buckets Blakes shared an important message about the ABCs of Bullying with Violet Elementary. The Harlem Globetrotters are an exhibition basketball team. They combine athleticism, theatre, and comedy in their style of play.

Action, Bravery, and Compassion were defined and discussed by student volunteers Ava Teed, Jammeel Hodges, and Stuart Gibson. Buckets shared his own personal stories about bullying and ways to handle the situation. At the end of the presentation, this mentor showed the audience some basketball tricks and the reason he broke a Guinness World Record.

A special thank you to Susan Tuladziecki, a parent of 3 Violet students, who organized this dynamic, interactive, and entertaining anti-bullying presentation.
